Berber carpet refers to a specific type of distinct weave having varying levels of loops and usually has less pile that other carpets although considerably denser than some with higher loops of pile. The weave type means the carpet has both large and small tufts of yard, having a less consistent pattern when the loops are the same size. (see commercial carpets) Berber carpets are generally light colors but some darker colors are available. They are generally constructed from Olefin and Nylon fibers.
